This privacy statement explains how BECOME Alliance B.V. handles personal data on becomealliance.com. It applies to this website only. BECOME® Institute publishes its own statement at becomeinstitute.com/privacy.

Who is responsible

BECOME Alliance B.V. is the controller for the personal data collected through this website. BECOME Alliance B.V. is a wholly owned subsidiary of BECOME® Institute and shares its office address, contact details and administration. Enquiries are handled by BECOME Alliance. Where an enquiry requires their involvement, authorised BECOME® Institute personnel may also read and help handle it. Access is limited to the people who need it in order to respond to you.

What we collect, and why

Enterprise enquiries

When you submit an enterprise enquiry we collect your name, email address, country, organization, role, your question or ambition, and your phone number if you choose to provide it. We use this to respond to you, to prepare and hold the conversation that follows, and to keep a record of the contact.

Where you contact us as a representative or contact person of an organization, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to a business enquiry addressed to us and in maintaining the business relationship with that organization. Only where you yourself are the intended party to a possible agreement do we rely on the steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract.

Partnership enquiries

When you submit a partnership enquiry we collect your name, email address, country, your current role or professional background, your motivation, the relevant background categories you select yourself, the description of your relevant experience you write in your own words, your confirmation that you understand that this opportunity involves building your own entrepreneurial Practice within BECOME Alliance, with the partnership structure and individual arrangements discussed during the introductory conversation, and optionally your organization, LinkedIn profile and phone number. We use this to assess whether a first conversation about partnership makes sense and to hold that conversation.

Where you enquire on behalf of your own company or other entity, as partners in our model commonly do, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in evaluating and responding to partnership enquiries addressed to us. Only where you yourself are the intended party to a possible partnership agreement do we rely on the steps taken at your request prior to entering into that agreement.

Partnership enquiries are read and assessed by people. There is no automated decision-making and no automated scoring, ranking or selection of candidates.

Technical data with every enquiry

With each submission we also store the website and page the enquiry came from, the time of submission, and a one-way hashed form of the IP address. The hashed IP address is used only to limit abuse and automated submissions of the form. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the website and our mailbox secure and usable.

Special categories of personal data

Please do not include health data, political or religious views, trade union membership, or other special categories of personal data in the free-text fields. Such data is not needed to handle an enterprise or partnership enquiry.

Marketing

Submitting an enquiry does not sign you up for a newsletter or any marketing list, and no marketing consent is bundled into the form. We use your details to handle your enquiry and the conversation that follows from it.

Downloads, book orders and external links

The booklets on this website can be downloaded directly, without a form and without giving us your email address. The download files themselves are hosted by BECOME® Institute. Ordering a printed edition takes you to BECOME® Studio on becomeinstitute.com; there is no checkout on this website, and any order you place there is handled under the terms and privacy statement published by BECOME® Institute.

Cookies and measurement

This website uses optional website statistics through Google Analytics. Nothing is measured until you accept analytics in the cookie banner: before that we load no Google script and send no measurement data, and all Google consent categories stay switched off. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics places cookies and measures which pages are viewed, the page titles, clicks on booklet downloads and clicks on links to other websites, together with the technical and approximate location data Google derives from your request. We do not send your name, email address, telephone number, the country you select or anything you type into a form, and we strip query strings and page fragments from the addresses we report.

Separately, you can accept optional advertising measurement. It exists for one purpose only: to record, through Google Ads, that an enterprise enquiry was successfully sent after an advertisement was clicked, so we can see which advertisements are worthwhile. It is registered only once for a completed enterprise enquiry — never for partnership applications, button clicks, downloads or ordinary page views — and none of your form details are included. Ad personalisation, remarketing, Google signals and enhanced conversions stay switched off at all times, also when you accept advertising measurement. The two choices are independent: accepting analytics does not enable advertising measurement, and accepting advertising measurement does not enable analytics.

The analytics measurement runs in a Google Analytics property that BECOME® Institute and BECOME Alliance share, so a visit that moves between becomeinstitute.com and becomealliance.com can be recognised as one visit in those statistics. Google acts as our processor for this measurement and may process data outside the European Economic Area under the safeguards agreed with them.

Everything on this website works without any measurement: you can read every page, download the booklets and send an enquiry with both options rejected. You can change or withdraw your choices at any time through “Cookie preferences” at the bottom of every page; when you withdraw them, measurement stops and the Google cookies are removed. Your choice is stored in your browser only. The pages also load a web font stylesheet from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google servers and your IP address is visible to that service as part of delivering the font. Cookie preferences are set per website: a preference given on becomeinstitute.com does not apply here, and vice versa.

Suppliers and international transfers

This website and its enquiry database run on Lovable Cloud. The enquiry database is located in Europe (Ireland); that describes where the data is stored, not every technical operation performed on it. Our domain name and our regular mailboxes, including tellmemore@becomealliance.com, are provided by Cloud86 in the Netherlands, and enquiries we answer by email are handled in that mailbox. When automated notification and confirmation emails for this website are activated, they will be sent through the email service that is part of Lovable Cloud; that step has not been activated yet.

These suppliers process personal data on our instructions. Some of them, or their sub-processors, may access or process data outside the European Economic Area, for example for support, monitoring or email delivery. Where that happens, transfers rely on the safeguards agreed with the supplier, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. The arrangements that apply to our use of Lovable Cloud are set out in its data processing agreement at lovable.dev/data-processing-agreement. We refer to that document for the commitments it contains; we make no further guarantee about our suppliers' compliance beyond it.

How long we keep enquiries

Business enquiries that do not lead to an agreement are kept for no longer than twelve months after the last substantive contact. Partnership enquiries that are closed are kept for no longer than six months after they are closed. Where an agreement is entered into, we keep the data needed for that relationship for as long as it is necessary, and for as long as statutory retention obligations require.

Deletion is not automated. We review stored enquiries periodically and remove data that has passed the periods above.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for access to your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to have processing restricted, to receive your data in a portable form, and to object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Write to tellmemore@becomealliance.com. Requests relating to data held by BECOME® Institute can also be sent to its privacy address, myrights@becomeinstitute.com. We normally respond within one month. If a request is complex or we receive several requests from you, that period may be extended where the law allows; we will tell you about such an extension, and the reason for it, within the first month. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you may lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
